From This Room to That Room

《From This Room to That Room》 focuses on the views of the inside and outside of a house seen through a window, as well as on sentimental objects that imbue empty spaces with individuality and memories, thereby making that space as yours. These works originated from an idea that in an era where moving and relocation have become so common, a home might be a concept closer to things like photographs, plants, or inherited interior accessaries than to the space itself. A Small, Good Thing, a participatory work, is also connected to the fact that opening and closing a space, and giving it meaning, are linked to sentimental objects and the memories of the relationships intertwined with them.

《나의 방을 나눔합니다》는 창문에서 바라본 집 안과 밖의 모습, 그리고 빈 공간에 개별성과 추억을 부여하여 그 공간을 '나의 것'으로 만드는 센티멘털 오브제(sentimental objects)에 주목한다. 이 작업들은 이동과 이주가 너무나 보편화된 시대에 집은 공간 그 자체보다도 사진이나 화초, 누군가에게 물려받은 실내 장식품 따위와 더 가까운 개념이 아닐까 하는 생각에서 시작되었다. 관객 참여형 작업인 A Small, Good Thing 또한 공간을 열고 닫는 것, 그리고 의미를 부여하는 것이 센티멘털 오브제와 그 오브제에 얽힌 관계의 기억이라는 사실과 연관이 있다.
